· Spiritualist art

To let myself be guided,

to paint from the soul, letting the mind rest.

It takes practice, it takes courage.

Start without an idea, without a mental image,

Start from nothing, start from everything.

Become the channel, connect to the source.

Trust. Trust intuition, just trust.

Receive and centre.

Tap into humanity,

into nature,

into universal wisdom,

and interconnectivity,

into the divine, the self and Self.

Stay open to new perspectives, different paradigms, awakening.

Let spirit be expressed into matter.

No judging, no fear, just awe.

· Messages from ancestors

Sometimes I allow myself to use some of this very old paper which used to belong to my great grandfather Joseph Wirth (1891-1935) from when he was an art student in Munich. As I let myself be guided I receive information from my homeland and ancestors, and give thanks for all they have given me.

• Tears on Earth / I què?

Created specifically for the exhibition Songs to Watch (Atelier Güell, Barcelona, December 2021), these drawings are inspired by two particular pieces of music.

'Tears in Heaven' (Eric Clapton, 1991) was a piece I listened to on repeat during the month of November. My uncle Jos passed away on October 30th, and this was one of his favourite songs. His sudden loss made it hard for me to go about my daily life, but art came to the rescue, as it has so often. Listening to my uncle’s favourite song and turning it into a piece of art made the mourning process a more beautiful experience. The drawing "Tear on Earth" expresses how I feel when I listen to Clapton’s 'Tears in Heaven'.

For the second piece I listened obsessively to 'So What' by Miles Davis (1959). This is one of my friend Pep’s favourite tracks. What you see is how I feel, listening to this tune. The title is the translation of "so what" into Catalan, Pep's native language.
